Willow Tree Silver Basic Set (1653-1660)

The Willow Tree coins are some of the crudest Colonial coins ever made. Most examples show multiple strikes, creating a jumble of designs and other areas where the details are indistinct. What this family of coins has going for it is the exceptional rarity of each denomination (the Threepence is represented by only three examples and only a dozen or so Sixpences are known). Willow Tree coins rarely appear on the market, so completing even this Basic Set of three coins is an incredible challenge.
