The Major VAM set contains some 196 coins, made up of the Top 100, Hot 50 and Hit List 40 sets. Over 40% of the coins in this set are dated 1878 and virtually all the key dates are varieties of the 1878 8 TF (VAM 14). While certainly not an easy set to complete, two Registry participants have indeed finished this set, and two others are within one coin. Given the popularity of collecting Morgan dollars by VAM variety, this set is the most comprehensive all-VAM set offered on the Registry.
