Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel Complete Set, Circulation Strikes (1915)

In 1913, Ernst August became the Duke of Brunswick, a German State with a long history of changing political structure. Unfortunately for Duke August, he was forced to abdicate in the aftermath of World War I and the duchy folded into the Weimar Republic. Only four coins comprise this set: two 3 Marks and two 5 Marks, all of similar design. The varieties that lack "u. Luneb." are scarcer than those that bear it.
