A mint state Jefferson nickel set was overlooked for years as a “serious” PCGS set. No longer! There are a number of dates that are nothing short of RARE in high quality mint state with full steps. Likewise, building an “ultimate” set of proof Jefferson nickels is an incredibly challenging task. Many collectors do not realize that it is a most difficult set to assemble in DCAM (deep cameo). All of the issues from 1950 to 1959 are rare or extremely rare in DCAM. Completion of both the mint state and proof set offers tremendous fun for the dedicated collector who makes assembling such a set his (or her) goal.
