Classics, classics and more classics! This set contains one of the rarest and most valuable coins in the world—the 1822 $5 gold piece. Only three of them are known and two of those are in the Smithsonian Institution National Collection. The third piece, from the Eliasberg collection, has yet to be graded by PCGS. Other great rarities in circulation strike include the 1798 Small Eagle, the 1815, both 1829 issues and more. When it comes to the proof issues, these early $5 gold pieces are so rare that PCGS has certified only six specimens since 1986 (as this is being written). That’s not six examples of each date, but six coins total of the entire date run! If you locate even a single coin you’ll be assured of being among the top collectors of this awesomely tough series! Here is a set for the ultra-rich and the ultra-dedicated!

Notes: This set has bonuses. Please see the Set Composition for a listing.
