Two and Three Cent Type Set, Proof (1851-1889)

A Proof Type set of these odd denomination coins of the mid-19th century doesn't sound, at first pass, like a particularly challenging set. Until that is, you remember the Type 1 Three Cent Silver was struck prior to the sale of Proof coins to the general public. Should you by chance fail to appreciate what that means, one look at the PCGS population report will clarify. The population for a Proof Type One Three Cent Silver stands at one! In his Encyclopedia, Breen notes that four are known. Aside from that one coin, the rest should present relatively few issues.
