Like most Proofs of this period, the vast majority of the original mintage has survived with an ample supply of gems (PR67 and even PR68) to satisfy the quality collector. Prices remain fairly reasonable, and locating a nice example of the Nickel and Silver issues should not prove too difficult. The gold this year used a Roman or Satin finish, which while not mirrorlike, was considerably more lustrous than the Matte finish of 1911-1915. While the mint reported relatively high mintage figures for the Proof Gold this year, they are scarcer than the mintage would indicate.
