- 1898 Liberty Nickel. FS-301. Repunched Date. MS-66+ (PCGS). CAC. Secure Holder. Intensely lustrous with lively cartwheel activity on satiny pale champagne surfaces. The strike is bold throughout save for a touch of weakness -- where else? -- at the lower left ear of corn in the reverse wreath. Repunching plainest at 189 in the date. The present specimen readily upholds the Condition Rarity factor of the Land of Smiles Collection, and we suspect the present beauty, like so many others in this collection, will be a treasured acquisition for its next steward.
