This piece is from the same collection as the 5C 1917 PCGS MS67+ earlier in the sale. Like that coin, this too displays tremendous quality and eye appeal. Flawless surfaces reveal only a few light toning dots on the reverse and NO problems anywhere. The texture is sleek. A surprisingly strong luster beams vividly from all over. Both sides are enlivened by even gold/lilac/pale nickel blue colors. These too look like album toning. All of the details are sharply struck and stand out. The eye appeal is fantastic! PCGS 28, NGC 5. PCGS has graded 4 in MS66+. The last 1918D PCGS MS66+ to sell in auction was a CAC piece. That piece brought $12,000 in April 2019. The current Collectors Universe Value is $13,500. Finding these pre 1920 dates really nice with some color and great strike is really difficult. The new owner will get much pride out of having this coin in their collection! Cert.
