- TOBAGO. Tobago - French Guiana (Cayenne). Stampee (2-1/4 Pence), ND (1798). PCGS AU-55. KM-6; cf. Prid-4; Vlack-444. Issued by local act of 5 November 1798. "TBo" countermark on a 1789 French Guiana 2 Sous. The countermark is deeply applied on a nicely preserved host with much remaining detail. The surfaces are smooth displaying lovely chocolate brown patina with areas of lighter coloration atop of the devices adding to its pleasing appearance. A fantastic representation of the type that is leagues finer than normally encountered destined for an advanced collector seeking high grade survivors. Estimate: $300 - $400.
