Iridescent pastel shades of champagne-pink, reddish-gold and powder blue drift over smooth, satiny surfaces. This is a fully lustrous, silky smooth coin that would serve as a highlight in the finest Franklin half dollar set. A "moderately scarce" issue in Full Bands Gem Mint State preservation, Rick Tomaska further describes the 1954-D as "extremely rare" in MS-67 and MS-67 FBL in the third edition (2018) of his Guide Book of Franklin & Kennedy Half Dollars.
