- IRELAND. Munster. 1/2 Penny Token, ND (ca. 1790). PCGS MS-65 Red and Brown Gold Shield. DH-14. A superbly preserved Gem of this RAREand popular type, which displays a portly Englishman at the dinner table with the words "English Slavery" above. The reverse, less dramatic, shows wheatsheaf and doves at center. Only the second example of this token that we have seen (the last sold at Spink for 550 GBP in 2013), and quite possibly the finest extant, with extreme gloss over the bowed obverse surfaces and a ring of beautiful green, blue and purple that surrounds mostly red centers on the reverse.
