A GEM of the first order. Rich and vibrant multicolored toning envelopes both sides of this GEM Proof Seated Liberty quarter. A watery-type of reflective flash in the fields accenting the strength of the strike. The visual allure of this coin is high end and worthy of CAC approval. While the recorded mintage is 1,000, many were melted as unsold as the nation’s political and sectional issues continued to sour, and teetered on the verge of civil war. PCGS 19, NGC 15, CAC 5. Only a single CAC-approved example has sold in auction, a PCGS-graded coin that sold in October 2020. Today the CAC CPG value is $4,250 and the Collectors Universe value is listed at $3,650.
