O-108a. This late die state is quite scarce, listed as Rarity-4 in the most recent AMBPR, and this one ranks among the finest examples of this state in the listing of auction results. A wealth of satiny mint frost can be seen gracing the lightly worn surfaces. Perhaps lightly dipped ages ago, the surfaces are mostly untoned. The devices are crisp, despite the dies having clashed and the reverse being severely damaged by a number of interesting and dramatic die breaks. The eye appeal is very charming. PCGS 133, NGC 40. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $2,250 and the most recent sold for $1,800. A wonderful coin for the collector specializing in die states or really cool die cracks. Cert.
