- 45.6 mm. 676.8 grains. Plain, concave edge. Glossy medium brown with good visual appeal. Some evidence of handling is seen, surfaces a bit waxy, nice early die state. This is an early striking of this medal, probably 18th century given the concave edges and more than possibly from 1786, the year Franklin turned 80. While made in significant numbers and frequently restruck by the Paris Mint, very early originals like this remain extremely desirable.
