1901-O Barber Dime. FS-501. O/Horizontal O. MS-64 (PCGS). A rare variety with a clearly blundered mintmark that was first entered sideways, then corrected. Telltale repunching is seen on the inside of the mintmark at the top and bottom. Sunset-gold toning over lustrous fields, with a clean cheek on Liberty and a sharp strike. It is entirely possible that this is tied for the Finest Known of the variety with one other example graded as such by NGC, with none finer at that grading service either. Of considerable importance to Barber dime specialists.
