- SWITZERLAND. City of Zürich Archery Shoot Bronze Medal, 1865. PCGS Specimen-65. R-1727d; Martin-1017. By Jakob Friedrich Aberli, Winterthur. 54mm. Obverse: Arms of Zürich superimposed on a crossbow and quiver of bolts, perimeter legend in a blackletter style; Reverse: Crossbowman in period dress standing, facing left, supporting crossbow with his right hand; river, cityscape, and landscape in the background; anepigraphic. A pleasing, high grade specimen with a slightly mottled mahogany patina. Listed as "Rare" in Richter. Note that the "R-1727c" designation on the holder is inconsistent with the most current edition of Richter; R-1727d is now the correct designation for a bronze specimen. Estimate: $300 - $500.
