- Sheldon-10, aside from non-collectable die-marriages, is the only die-pairing that incorporates an upturned end of the stem on the obverse, and a period after the legend on the reverse. The newer PCGS insert permits confirmation of the vine-and-bars edge. Deep and almost certainly original dark chocolate patina should appeal to collectors of all levels, as this creates an attractive, vintage low-contrast presentation that doesn't detract from the all-important details. At the commercial XF-45 grade level, one can make out all but the finest strands of hair, as circulation has flattened only the central portions of each of the flowing locks. The obverse rim has survived nearly unscathed, showing a mere touch or two toward the lower right, while a slight rim bump at 7:00 on the reverse might be noticed by alert bidders. Otherwise, only a few minor circulation ticks will be found, mostly on the obverse at Liberty's cheek and above her forehead.
