- Among the 10 finest PCGS graded examples of this HOT 50 variety, identified by the clash marks seen on the reverse field, this GEM must have sat for a time at the top of a paper bank roll. The pale iridescent toning shows the angular pattern where the roll end would have been folded down. Pale gold, light rose, soft pink, and deeper violet blue can be seen as you roll the lustrous surfaces in a light. Nicely struck and brilliant. We note some minor hints of ancient finger prints possibly from when this coin was originally put into the roll. PCGS has graded 2 of this variety in MS66+ and just 8 finer.
