详细说明: 1785 Connecticut Copper. Miller 6.3-G.1, W-2400. Rarity-3. Mailed Bust Right. AU-55 BN (NGC). The chocolate-brown surfaces of this attractive Connecticut copper are uniformly microrough though the texture is only apparent under low magnification. The devices are sharp where struck up, especially on the obverse. The obverse centering is superb, some swelling seen in the field before the effigy's face, the reverse slightly off to the viewer's right with the rim there tight to the tops of ET LIB, slight bulge in field at branch hand and behind Liberty in the shield area, two die cracks from rim at E of INDE, otherwise no marks of any consequence. The easy equivalent to Taylor:2323 for sharpness and slightly less "swollen" than that specimen, readily the equivalent of the Ford secondary and tertiary pieces (May 2005:227 and 228) and the Perkins secondary coin. The present piece provides a nice opportunity for an upgrade in an advanced cabinet or for a primary piece in a beginner's collection.
