- 1799 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. B-21, BB-169. Rarity-3. BB Die State IV. AU-53 (NGC). An attractive golden-gray specimen with lilac-gray highlights. Soft mint frost can be seen among the devices, adding another dimension to the overall aesthetic appeal. No marks of a notable nature are seen, even under low magnification. The present coin readily defines the AU-53 grade -- lightly and evenly worn with essentially mark-free surfaces and a world of eye appeal. Choice for the grade and ideally suited to a high-grade early dollar cabinet or an advanced type set. Later die state with thin cracks around portions of the obverse and minor rust patches seen on the dies as well, common to this issue. One of the finer examples of this variety. PCGS# 40060.
