Sharply struck, as well, and sure to please even the most discerning gold enthusiast.<p>An underrated issue among late date Liberty Head half eagles, the true scarcity of the 1900-S is unknown to most collectors even through the mintage of 329,000 pieces is limited by 20th century U.S. Mint standards. Likely, this issue suffers from being in the shadow of its 1900 Philadelphia Mint counterpart, which has a much higher mintage (1,405,500 circulation strikes) and is among the most common of the With Motto design type.<p>Interestingly for such a scarce and underrated issue, there are a few truly outstanding 1900-S half eagles known. The finest is the celebrated Eliasberg specimen that represents at least one of the grading events in MS-69 currently listed in the <em>PCGS Population Report</em>. CC#2 is the grading event listed at PCGS MS-68+, followed by the offered coin in PCGS MS-66+ at CC#3. A stunning coin in all regards, this rare premium Gem will garner strong bids from astute bidders.
