The surfaces are highly lustrous, as well, with a full endowment of frosty, smooth-looking luster. Superior for both the issue and the assigned grade, and worthy of the strongest bids. With a mintage of 21,726,000 pieces and many coins preserved in government vaults, the 1889 is a readily obtainable Morgan dollar issue in most Mint State grades.
