STRAITS SETTLEMENTS. 5 Cents, 1920. NGC AU-53. KM-31; Tan-SSC21. Silver. RAREtransitional year for the denomination. The silver 5 Cent coinage was replaced with a copper-nickel issue of slightly different design (KM-36) with nearly all of the earlier mintage presumably melted down. Good strike with medium grey toning and soft satin underlying luster. Estimate: $900 - $1,400. NGC AU-53.
