1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar. O-121. Rarity-4. Y Punched Over Star. Fine-15 (PCGS). An intriguing variety that is attributable without the aid of a loupe, the letter Y in LIBERTY has been punched over a star that was entered into the incorrect position in the die. Remnants of the errant star are particularly discernible within the fork of the Y. An original olive-gray example with considerable boldness of detail in the presence of moderate-to-heavy wear. The reverse is quite smooth, but there are several mentionable abrasions in the obverse field, especially in front of Liberty's eye.
