Despite a mintage of over 11 million, this date is RARE in GEM or finer grades. Even in MS64 this date is not as common as you might think. A pleasing and totally original example that is on the cusp of a full GEM grade, this example has a colorful bloom of toning at the rims, highlighting and accenting a pearlescent mint brilliance. The eye appeal is strong and PCGS took into account some very minor lines, visible only with a strong glass when not putting it in a MS65 holder. PCGS 62, NGC 65, CAC 15. There are only 2 in MS64+, and they have graded just 31 higher in all grades. Neither MS64+ has ever sold in auction. but the PCGS Price Guide value is $875. With its outstanding looks we think that level will be easily surpassed when the hammer falls. A great addition to any Barber quarter set. Cert. Number 39134126 PCGS # 5619
