- BRAZIL. 960 Reis, 1816-B. Bahia Mint. Joao as Prince Regent. PCGS AU-58. KM-307.1; Gomes-31.10. Clearly struck over a Spanish 8 Reales of Charles IV (KM-432.1), either 1803 or 1805. It the opinion of this cataloger that it is an 1803 when viewed under magnification. A charming example of a popular overstruck type. With a deep gray patina and some golden luster shinning through.
