- 1786 New Jersey Copper. Maris 17-b, W-4870. Rarity-3. Straight Plow Beam, Chess Knight, PLUKIBUS--Overstruck on a Connecticut Copper. VF-35 (PCGS). 130.4 grains. Glossy light brown with exceptional eye appeal. Both sides are wholesome and attractive, showing some scattered light natural flaws but nothing egregious. A short shallow scratch is seen right of C of CAESAREA. Evidence of the host are readily seen, including most of AUCTORI CONNEC around the reverse and even the figure 8 from the 1787 date upside down at 12 o'clock on the obverse.
