- The 1836 HM-8 represents the second use of Reverse F in the Classic Head quarter eagle series and was struck after coins of the 1836 HM-1 pairing. Some Proof 1836 quarter eagles are attributed to the HM-8 variety. The offered example is a premium BU survivor with rich, frosty luster and delightful light olive-gold color. The brief Classic Head quarter eagle series of 1834 to 1839 is anything but common in Mint State, which is even true for an otherwise plentiful issue such as the 1836.
