- Circa 1883 Portsmouth, Virginia medal. Musante GW-Unlisted (obverse of GW 1013-1016). Baker-Unlisted. Copper, Bronzed. MS-64 (PCGS). 32 mm. An apparently very rare medal, clearly related to the medals just offered through the use of the same obverse die. However, we find this reverse listed nowhere. Deep mahogany bronze with marbling evident on both sides; the reverse is a bit less uniform due to an apparent problem with the bronzing. Still quite attractive with deeply mirrored fields and virtually no evidence of handling.
