- Totally original and very pleasing for the grade! Nicely defined details show light wear, evidence that it was discovered before it was able to get heavily worn and pulled from circulation. Unlike many that have been conserved in the past, this piece has bold tan-russet, and dove toning. A few insignificant marks are noted for accuracy, but none are serious enough to negatively affect the eye appeal. A very rare date in a highly collectible grade. The doubled features are bold and completely visible to the naked eye. Not only is the doubling noticeable at the date and feathers, but also the profile shows bold doubling. The eye appeal really is superb for the assigned grade, as many we see are lacking in definition and eye appeal. Rarer than the other key varieties in the series, the 1918/7-D and the very famous 1937-D 3 Legged. Survival estimates range from 200-400 in all grades, with most being in the VF range. PCGS 11, NGC 5, CAC 3. The ONLY PCGS/CAC to ever sell in auction realized $22,425 in the 2011 FUN auction. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $22,500 This coin, with its rich color and original surfaces will see intense bidding from astute collectors. If you still need to fill that glaring hole in your set, this very pleasing, high end XF will fit in nicely to your collection! Cert. Number 35971493 PCGS # 3931
