For the toning enthusiast, some remarkably dense, deeply saturated mulberry-rouge patina drapes the upper and lower fields of the obverse, while the reverse displays utterly astonishing, rich thick denim-blue with crimson undertones. It's simply a devastating effect for those not used to seeing toned gold, and that it should have developed over a scarcer Charlotte piece makes the allure all that prominent. And finally, in the face of everything else, each side has been rather meticulously struck, displaying uncommon sharpness for branch-mint gold. A fabulous coin that perhaps must be seen to be fully appreciated.
