Only 50 examples of this type in the second size were produced by the infant Medallic Art Company (this example edge numbered 11), and sales were slow despite the artistic designs by sculptor Bela Lyon Pratt, designer of the then-current Indian quarter eagle and half eagle gold coins. The example offered here displays blushes of olive-copper patina over smooth, problem free, golden-brown surfaces.
