- Lot 146 1813 S-292 R2. PCGS graded AU-55.Glossy steel brown and olive with darker chocolate brown and steel toning on the reverse. Mint frost covers the protected areas on both sides and a few tiny peeps of faded mint color remain visible in protected areas on the obverse. The surfaces are smooth and the notable marks are a spot of dark crud under star 2 (possibly removable) and a puff of darker olive brown toning between the date and star 13. Nicely struck MDS, Breen state III, with die clashmarks on both sides and fine radial die flowlines from the dentil tips. The obverse is slightly misaligned to K-11.5 while the reverse is nearly centered on the planchet. Our grade is EF45. The attribution and Doug Bird Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
