Truly one of the most eye appealing 1892 Barber half dollars we have had the honor of offering! We really love it! Not only is this coin among the finest graded at PCGS, the quality is VERY high end. While the mintage of this first year issue was sizable at 934,000, few survived in SUPERB GEM grades and there is constant demand for it for type set purposes. This wonderful MS67 is vivid in its bold, satiny luster which brings out the outstanding multicolored shades of blue, gold, rose, and iridescent patina. The details are sharply impressed on both sides and the satiny surfaces are smooth, free of any distractions anywhere. The melange of color, bold luster, and sharp definition really sets this one apart! PCGS 9, NGC 6, CAC 10. The most recent example sold for $12,338 in our January 2019 Regency Auction, but that coin, while pretty, was not as attractive as the presently offered coin. This coin has been off the market since August 2011, where it sold for $14,375. Keep in mind that only five coins have graded finer, and a 67+ will be worth in the $20,000-25,000 range and a 68 will cost $65,000+! Bound for a world class collection and will attract intense bidding from type and specialist collectors alike! Cert. Number 5995841 PCGS # 006461
