- 1740-B Sou Marque. Rouen Mint. Vlack-51, var. Repunched Date(?). MS-62 (PCGS). An intriguing and visually pronounced variety, the primary digit 0 is either repunched over a small 0 (Syd Martin's theory) or represents a different variant of the 1740/39-B. In either case this obverse die is unlisted in the 2004 Vlack reference. A lovely coin with iridescent gold, apricot and powder blue toning to fully silvered surfaces.
