详细说明: Lot 344 1853 N-3 R1 Repunched 185 NGC graded MS66 Brown, CAC Approved.Highly lustrous bluish steel and light olive with 5% of the obverse and 15% of the reverse showing mint red. The surfaces are satiny and this cent has outstanding eye appeal. Nicely struck and void of spots or stains. Just a few tiny contact marks that can help identify this piece including a dull nick that is well hidden in the hair under star 7, a thin planchet fissure on the rim at star 4 (as struck), and a small nick on the left side of the O in ONE. E-MDS, die state a late. The repunching over the base of the 1 is dull but visible, the fine repunching on the 8 & 5 is gone, and there are die clashmarks on both sides. Our grade is MS63, tied for CC#4 in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label.
