- Exceedingly Rare Pau Mint 1751 Sou Marque Vlack: "None Reported" 1751-Cow Sou Marque. Pau Mint. Vlack-290. Rarity-9. VF-25 (PCGS). 23.1 grains. Wisps of steel-olive toning enhance an obverse that retains much of the silvering, the surface finely textured in the planchet. The reverse retains less than half of the silvering and is dominated by a swath of deep charcoal-rose patina. The latter side is a bit soft overall, obverse sharper with a clear date and cow mintmark. This issue was unknown to Vlack (2004), the Pau Mint as a whole a rarity in the billon sou marque series.
