- 1744-O Sou Marque. Riom Mint. Vlack-159. Rarity-8. Double Struck, Partial Brockage. EF-40 (PCGS). 31.6 grains. Mostly dark steel-gray in color. This is an extremely rare issue from the final year the Riom Mint struck this denomination. In addition, the reverse shows clear signs of double striking, with the incuse impression of another coin's obverse at right. Errors of this sort aren't often seen in the sou marque series as a whole, and when found on rare issues such as this take on an added significance to advanced collectors.
