- THE GEORGE SCHWENK COLLECTION Tied for SECOND FINEST GRADED at PCGS, this is a marvelous SUPERB GEM! The 24-S, like most mintmarked issues from the mid 1920s is a very rare issue with Full Head details, (PCGS has graded just one MS67 FH since they began operations in 1986!). This marvelous example has bold head details, but a trifle soft for the FH designation. Both sides of this lustrous SUPERB GEM are dusted with a delightful, light iridescent toning. True enough for the date, there is some softness of definition on the shield and the drapery as well as the above mentioned trifling weakness on Liberty's head. A dappled gold with flecks of rose, orange, and soft blue that the bold luster brings to the fore. As to be expected on a GEM of this lofty state of preservation, the surfaces are nearly pristine and essentially flawless. The eye appeal is great. PCGS 9, NGC 2. The most recent examples to sell were all CAC approved, most recently an example sold in October 2020 for $8,500. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $10,000. Just a single MS67+ is graded higher at PCGS in the non-FH designation. This is a very important opportunity for the advanced collector. Good luck. Cert. Number 35223868 PCGS # 5750
