- 1839-C Classic Head Quarter Eagle. HM-2, Winter-1. Rarity-6. VF-30 (PCGS). OGH. A very scarce die combination for this highly collectible Charlotte Mint issue. The mintmark is positioned over the 3 in the date, and the branch leaf extends over the D in the denomination. The obverse detail is impressively sharp for the grade, although slightly more wear is seen on the reverse eagle's neck and wings. Orange-gold coloration complements the natural surfaces.
