S-3824; KM-692. An interesting piece that exhibits a bronzed appearance, despite being a currency issue and having been struck one year later than the bronzed proof 1826 issues. There is a chance that it was struck upon a leftover bronzed 1826 planchet, or that it was bronzed post-mint; Peck notes that post-mint bronzing has been observed on some anachronistic issues. NGC declined to holder the piece due to its uncertain nature ("No Decision" tag is included with lot), while PCGS has certified it as a regular issue.
