- An UNDERRATED issue in this superb GEM condition, especially with the Full Bell Lines. The luster is so creamy it looks like a sheet of satin. A dusting of fiery orange, electric navy halo toning graces the obverse while the reverse exhibits a wisp of champagne gold toning throughout. PRISTINE ORIGINALITY. Under powerful magnification a thin pin scratch is noted behind Franklin’s head. PCGS 323, NGC 61, CAC 77. With the all important + designation, the populations taper off considerably to 52 PCGS pieces and 8 NGC. What is most notable, is there are only 16 coins finer at PCGS and NGC combined with the highest grade being MS-67. We sold an example in our Regency 40 sale in August 2020 for $852.
