FROM THE GERALD R. FORSYTHE COLLECTION The 1918-D nickel is a scarce issue in Mint State, and truly RARE in this lofty state of preservation. Indeed, you can instantly tell that this GEM has been carefully handled since it left the mint over 100 years ago! A strong brilliant mint luster glows boldly on both sides. The radiance is sublime in the fields, accenting the wonderful iridescent hues that are gently dusted across the surfaces. The Bison and the Indian are both boldly struck up and have nice crisp definition to even the most minute details. The eye appeal is exceptional for this CONDTIONALLY RARE issue! PCGS 29, NGC 4. None have sold since April 2018. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $6,500. There are just seven graded finer at PCGS, and those are five figure coins.
