- Lot 327 1852 N-8 R2 PCGS graded MS63 Red & Brown.Lustrous mellowing mint red fading to light olive and brown with 20% of the obverse and 45% of the reverse showing mint color. This cent may have been dipped long ago but the color and eye appeal were nice enough to pass muster at PCGS. The only notable marks are a puff of lighter tan toning on the neck and a speck of dark toning under the left side of the E in UNITED. LDS, die state d, with a very fine die crack through the D in UNITED into the wreath. Our grade is MS62.Previously housed in an NGC slab graded MS64RB (NGC label #1647872-013 included, and it shows the attribution). The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 9 finer: 3 in 64, 3 in 65, 1 in 65+, 2 in 66.
