- 1740-O Sou Marque. Riom Mint. Vlack-155a, var. No Stops Before or After Leaf. VF-25 (PCGS). 31.4 grains. Much of the silvering remains to surfaces that show mottled steel-olive patina to a base of pewter-gray. Upper right obverse periphery a trifle weak, including the date, which shows considerable crumbling to the digits 40. Sharp O mintmark with bold to sharp detail to most other features, and no marks to distract the eye. Unlisted in the 2004 Vlack reference, this variety shows no stops before or after the leaf différenton the reverse, as well as no stop before SIT in the obverse legend. Provenance: From the Sydney F.
