THE MERIDIAN COLLECTION OF PROOF BARBER DIMES Tied for FINEST KNOWN status, this is truly a marvel of a GEM Proof Barber dime. Everything about this coin is off the charts! This wonderfully preserved 1908 Proof dime is endowed by totally original powder-blue, rosy-red, and, peach-gold and apple-green toning. The devices are fully struck and frosty and contrast against the richly reflective mirrored fields. The toning and visual allure of this piece is truly SUPERB! WOW. Only 545 Proofs were struck. PCGS 9, NGC 3, CAC 6. There are just three graded so fine at PCGS with NONE higher. This coin realized a world record $8,225 a decade ago, and is the only CAC approved PR67+ CAM that ever sold in auction. Bidding could easily surpass the PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $8,500.
