- 41.4 mm. 562.8 grains. Plain edge. Obverse A / Reverse C. Another example of this die marriage, displaying strong reflectivity on lustrous chocolate brown and pastel highlighted surfaces. Some traces of mint color are seen pulling away from the peripheral legends. The planchet shows some inherent roughness, notable beneath the bust truncation and in a few area of the reverse, particularly on the youngest son's shoulder. The reverse cud below 3 o'clock is substantial, the mint-accomplished rim filing is not visible in the encapsulation. A high quality example that brought $862.50 when last offered in January 2009, at a time when the market was weak and fearful due to the prevailing financial winds.
