- FROM THE SOMMELIER COLLECTION Ex Dakota Collection, as noted on the PCGS insert. "I LOVE this coin!" exclaimed Laura Sperber, as it was consigned to this sale. It is an old friend to Legend Numismatics, as they handled the thousands of coins from the Dakota Collection about a decade ago. This GEM is indeed an important highlight of this sale, and Legend Rare Coin Auctions is proud to offer it in this Regency Auction. A totally ORIGINAL GEM! Incredibly well preserved, the 1921-S is the RAREST Walking Liberty half dollar to find in GEM. The present coin is one of just 16 to grade MS65 at PCGS in 32 years of professional coin grading--that is a very strong declaration as to the absolute rarity of this date. The Dakota coin is exceptionally lustrous with a blinding brilliance that borders on a semi-reflective texture in the obverse fields. The devices are better than well struck, they seem to be chiseled into the planchet with a boldness of strike that is very rarely seen. Tinges of the palest iridescent gold patina can be seen as you rotate the incredibly lustrous surfaces in a light. We note a tiny tick or two, just for the sake of full disclosure. This coin is AMAZING, and will fit into any AMAZING collection of Walking Liberty half dollars. PCGS 16, NGC 21, CAC 4. This coin has only sold privately, our consignor paid $98,500 in January 2016. The most recent PCGS/CAC coin to sell in auction realized $117,500 in the 2015 ANA auction. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $110,000. The Duckor coin, was graded MS65+ CAC by PCGS and sold for $120,000 in the 2018 FUN auction. The lone PCGS MS66 has yet to ever sell in auction, and may not for a long time, making this AMAZING GEM one of the FINEST examples for you to add to your collection. Make your set legendary with this one! Good luck and congratulations in advance to the winning bidder! Cert. Number 25554417 PCGS # 6585
