A wonderfully lustrous near-GEM example of this popular Civil War year. Frosty mint bloom has a satiny feel throughout the fields. Mostly a very pleasing pearly-silver, there is just a touch of multihued toning at the left rim on the obverse and reverse. The surfaces have a few light scuffs that account for the grade, but the naked eye appeal is quite strong. PCGS 14, NGC 18, CAC 4. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $3,100 and this coin last sold in the 2014 FUN auction for $2,820. Since then there is a PCGS non-CAC record in the 2014 ANA at $3,525. With its great look, and knowing that a 65 would cost nearly triple, this coin offers a great value. Cert. Number 25359521 PCGS # 6311
